Erik, the Phantom, with a red rose looks at the viewer. Within the shape of his cape, Christine seeks comfort from Raoul atop the roof of the Opera House, while the city of Paris (1880s) stretches behind them. A month in the making, two weeks of layer by layer painting, this original watercolor and ink artwork was used for Mili Fay’s Inktober 2016 Sketchbook cover. Inspired by Gaston Leroux’s famous novel and the equally famous musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Size: 11 x 14
Painting Technique: After mixing the color, allow the pigment to settle on the bottom of the watercolor tray, then using a clean brush paint with just the coloured water in thin layers. The method takes longer, but (by removing the unwanted pigment granules) allows for superior clarity of tone.
The frame is not included.
