Felipe Echevarria Biography
Felipe Echevarria is an American artist working in triple arenas of fine art, illustration, and comics & graphic novels. His best known works so far are the 1991 watercolor comics adaptation of the Hitchcock film PSYCHO, the SPEARWOMEN sketchbook of primal Caucasian women, and the underground Sandman Death paintings collection entitled ANKH.
In addition to the occasional fine art exhibition, there are three highly original illustrated ventures in the works: KLOON, a colorful coming-of-age story told during the Turn of the Century Paris circus scene; DEATH FROM ABOVE, a hand-painted metaphysical graphic novel revealing the true spiritual nature of death and life, and the DIAMOND STUDDED FACE CAGE comic, an intense telling of a white-clothed model who upsets a boring 1990’s fashion show with a diamond-studded cage locked onto her face.
